Seems like a long time ago now, that I have been thinking about an Alice theme. I have been lost in this beautiful world of inspiration and ideas and was completely hooked on the idea that this could be one of the most romantic and beautiful wedding idea's ever. Planning an Alice and Wonderland themed wedding is a glamorous little project for me. I spent much of my weekend, perusing the internet for beautiful, inspiring images, I have turned to ruffles, pastels time and time again...

I love the soft crushed look that some flowers naturally create. This bouquet (from MS Weddings), has a fairy-tale feel. It has a wild flower feel, featuring pastels, which I adore, and it uses a lot of the flowers that might have been in singing in Alice's garden!

Kristin & Dan's Hopelessly in Love... New Hampshire Engagement!

I found this engagement session and literally swooned. It’s not your average engagement photography! It’s seriously gorgeous and creative. I stumbled on it because she is wearing the fabulous fashion's of Monique Martinez. Seriously, how fun are Monique's dresses.....gorgeous! Designed for the flirty women who wants to show her fun side, the style is romantic, it’s elegant, it’s timeless and yet brings out the little girl in all of us. Photographed by the amazing Liesl Clark of Claris Photography, a creative photographer that tells us a love story. She captured the blissfully romantic side of Kristin Burgess and her fiancee Dan by giving us a glimpse into their own private love story.

Kristin's Theme-
I wanted to push the envelope with these photos, to make this photo shoot a once in a lifetime experience. I wanted to show our love but not in a typical “smile, hold hands and skip off into the sunset” way. I wanted the photos to be the real us and sometimes we're not all smiles but we're always in love, no matter what. I take pride in my artistic eye, which I use on a daily basis in the Gallery where I work. I wanted to show off my inner artist while allowing Dan to be himself. This happened in many of the photos where I look totally over the top and he is very simple in his white button down, doing his thing. He is sometimes very silly but can be often serious and contemplative as well.

One thing that brought Dan and I together in the beginning of our courtship was our love of the outdoors. For my twenty-first birthday he in conjunction with my father-bought me a mountain bike, it is one of my favorite possessions. In those photos, with the bikes, our many personality traits collide. I dress up for work everyday and love to wear tutus but one of my favorite things to do is get on my mountain bike and get dirty in the woods. I love Dan's face in the bike photos-in some he is smiling at me and in others he is looking at me like I am crazy, I love this. These photos, all of them, tell a story of who we are as a couple and as individuals.

The beautiful and Amazing location...
This is our home. Sometimes we can’t believe it. We feel like we won the lottery. We live on Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire, year round, as full time caretakers on, what I think, is the most beautiful property in New Hampshire. Many of the photos were taken in the boathouse on the property and others were out at various locations on our small, quiet road. The old shed, which is in my favorite photos, is on our road, a place I walked by almost everyday without thinking twice about it. With its mossy roof and dusty, clouded windows it made for an amazing setting where Liesl took totally amazing photos. It created this backdrop that I never could have imagined possible. I still walk by it everyday but now I study its complexity, a man made structure being completely taken over by its wet, lakeside, mossy surroundings.

Incorporate unique items into the photos...

As part of my work at the gallery, I refinish old Furniture for our own line, Junque Label. We seek out old furniture, refinish it down to the smallest detail and re-sell it in the shop. I had mentioned to Liesl that I wanted to incorporate furniture into the shoot. She completely wowed me by bringing that amazing couch. She also suggested using the lamp, which we had fun with and the shots are some of my favorites. Every relationship is a give and take, two people being there for one another in good times and bad. These shots are like an instruction manual- or something like that. One of my favorite props was my Monique Martinez dress. I love that dress. No matter how bad a day I’ve had- I can look at that dress in my closet and it will always make me smile. Hopefully my bridesmaids love Monique’s work as much as I do.

Coco asks, "What's your favorite thing about fall?".

Gina- Sweaters and hooded sweatshirts! Fall is always fun for clothes because they aren't covered with a 20 pound snow jacket yet!

Amy- The change in weather. I love the layering days. You wake up to cool weather, by lunch you are shedding layers of clothes because it's hot. :0)

Alysa- pumpkin bagels :)

Brian- Football......pumpkin pie.......the orange, yellow, and red leaves.

Steve- That woodsy earthy smell from the falling leaves, a waft from the season's first use of a fireplace.

Sandra- Changing of the leaves, Football Season, cool mornings, having to wear only a light jacket/sweatshirt, smell of pumpkin and cinnamon spice.

Monique- shopping for warm clothes, pumpkin everything, Halloween and boots!

Bella- The colors and the warmth! The holidays and the sweet smell of pies! Decorations and pretty things!! I LOVE SUMMER and flip flops but Fall has my heart too!!

For the second time this year, I succumbed to the fabulous cake creations of Cakegirls. This Chicago-based duo is quite busy. Looking at their skills, you can understand why people hire Cakegirls.

Organizing huge parties at Halloween is part of the tradition. With its increased popularity, Halloween is on the verge of becoming an holiday. Who says big events, says cakes. The haunted house cake beats the paper haunted house models. With that level of details ist is almost to great to eat! I am only kidding; I rarely resist a delicious cake.

I noticed that the Halloween decorations this year are more sophisticated. The decorations are even merrier. We seemed to stay away from the scariest Halloween party themes. I guess that we want something else; after the pretty scary have been done so many times. I would not complain about this sweeter side of Happy Halloween.

Bachelor & Bachelorette

It seems to be an upcoming trend for couples to celebrate together instead of apart for their last single night out. This couple wanted that very same thing. They decided that having a co-ed bachelor and bachelorette party was exactly what they wanted to do. So, I stepped in and helped them create a night to remember. They requested a house party type night, where all their friends can come and have a good time. The bride and groom to-be wanted to have a fun night but they wanted it no nonsense and easy.

So, we filled the evening with pleasure party laughter, chill music, catered food and fun party games to keep the night moving. The guests were always fed, with a drink in their hand and the music always going to keep things lively. All the lights in the house were replaced with red bulbs to give it a nice fun glow all night.

Planning this event for them was a lot of work but she is one of the easiest bride’s I have ever had to plan for. It made getting things together easy and fun. I wanted to give her the things she wanted and always keeping within the budget. Here are just a few of the details that went into planning this event:

Invite & Games:

Invite: I put together a DVD for the invite. It was a quick video teaser of to what to expect at the Co-ed Bachelor-ette Party. It was short and fun! I mailed out the invites and on the DVD it gave an evite address to logon to. It was great to be able to send guests and actual invite but have them log in to get the specific details of the party. It was also a great help to me for getting the head count and RSVP’s in one place.

Games: One of the games I put together was an x-rated Not-So Newlywed Game. I handmade custom player boards for the players and had a list of questions to ask all the people that came as couples. Some fun questions I asked were: If you could get rid of one of your partners things what would it be?; What percentage of the housework would your partner say he does? ; How many dates did you go on with your partner before your first kiss?; How many dates did you go on with your partner before you had sex with them? Complete the following sentence: A perfect wife is one who (blank).; What would your partner say your greatest strength would be?; When was your partners last orgasm? (Today, Last week, Last month). The list goes on and on...

Keepsake: I also made a “Sex & Marriage” book that guests were able to fill out throughout the night to give their own advice about sex & marriage.

Along with the coasters, special drinks were made to accommodate the red and black colors of the evening. Red drinks named after the bride were served all night and handed out with the coasters.

McCarty Wedding... Destination Bali!

Thinking about a destination wedding? Wondering where to go? The world is huge and the options seem endless. For this bride a destination wedding was a perfect getaway from the craziness a wedding can bring. The McCarty’s choose Bali as the ultimate getaway and honeymoon retreat. Rosalyn loved the idea of having a no nonsense wedding and wanted to go somewhere that only their closest family members would be there to celebrate their special time.

Rosalyn said that choosing this destination was the easiest thing she’s ever planned. Everything was worked out for her in advance and she mentioned that nothing could be worked out more perfectly. She also said that she understands with every wedding comes problems and things don’t always go as planned, so she kept that in mind the entire time from traveling the 22 hours to get there to the moment her wedding ended. For this lucky bride she was able to roll with everything because everything turned out exactly like she had wanted it too.

A few tips on planning a destination wedding:

• Plan ahead. Give yourself plenty of time to prepare for yourself and for your guests.

• Make sure you know the laws of marriage in other countries and check out all legalities.

• Find places with weddings packages that can combine everything you want into one great deal.

• Find someone at the destination that can be your wedding planner and go to person. You will need their help communicating with local vendors. Especially for places with language barriers.

• For wedding decorations, gifts and favors have them shipped over before the wedding and stored for you. It will help to save on having too much to bring on your day of travel and miss placing anything.

• Be thoughtful to your guests. It is your big day and they want to be there for you but consider how it will be for them.

• Plus, have checklists to avoid forgetting or missing anything. Make sure you have your to-do lists so that you have everything you want on your trip.

• Make sure to get shots that might be required for travel as early as a year before the wedding. Also, bring medications that could help in case you get sick while you travel. Plan just in case.

Most of all enjoy yourself! Think everything through and make sure you are doing what you want to do. Everyone will have opinion but always remember it’s your wedding! Always keep an open mind like the Richard & Rosalyn will help make your wedding a success.

-Guests can make their own candy & caramel apples at a dessert station
-For take-home guest favors, fill glass apothocary jars with candycorn and Halloween candy and have guests fill paper bags with thieir favorite treats
-Use skull lollipops as drink stirrers
-Float blackberries in champagne flutes for the toast
-Place Jack-O'-Laterns up and down walkways; don't forget to carve your new initials
-Rent masquerade masks for guests have fun and take pictures with
-Use sugared pumpkins as placeholders
-Hire a fortune teller to read tarot cards

- Get creative with a Signature Drink:

1 shot light rum
1 shot peach schnapps
Grenadine
Blue curacao

Shake with ice, pour into tall glass and charge with lemonade (or 86 the lemonade and pour chilled into a martini glass).

Raised in Los Angeles, I worked in the Entertainment Industry for 6 years before deciding I needed a even more creative outlet. I love planning events. The creative process is my favorite part. I love being creative and thinking of something new and different. Thinking outside the box is fun and my imagination can go wild with new thoughts that keep me up late into the night. When I do events for people, watching their eyes glow with happiness when they get what they were looking for is always exciting. I have come to find that most people don’t like to run through all the details and it’s easier to find someone that can show them the ideas and they can just click a button and add it to their event.

I have been planning events for over 10 years now. Every year seems to bring another great event to the table. I thrive in planning events and I love giving people what they want. I have worked in media and entertainment for over 12 years now and like Disney, I like to create magic in every event, making what seems impossible possible!

My family and I have lived in the LA area for over 14 years now. I lived in the Bay Area for the first half of my life. Between LA and the Bay, I love planning events along the coast. I really love planning events for kids too. I have fun making everything grand for the little children. Watching their eyes grow wide with imagination is so exciting for me. Event planning in a family effort in our house. I love having my kids help me put things together and even see things from another view. Having the help of my family means a lot to me and I am thankful they are always there to lend a hand and give advice.

I think CocoandBella will be perfect for people that like to find new ideas and see the latest trend. I can't tell you how excited I have been to have so many blogs feature my wedding. It took so much work for me to pull it together. I love Puerto Rico and it was such an honor to have my wedding there. It's such a romantic place, with amazing spanish streets, it's picture perfect on so any levels.

Para ti NOVIA emailed me and asked me to give a few details about my wedding. I was so excited to share all the details. Life is full of little Gems! Finding one that you want to share with the whole world is unique. I heart Ouma because she is truly an artist. There is nothing like putting on one of her dresses, it makes you feel like a movie star. Her fabulous take on ballerina style dresses makes me want to run to my closet and play dress up. Her dresses can make you feel like a little girl playing dress up. I purchased two of her dresses recently for my rehearsal dinner and honeymoon photo-shoot. I wanted to feel extra special at my rehearsal dinner. I wanted to wear a dress I would never forget. A simple small town fall wedding!

A few years ago, I shot a wedding with a fall theme. I loved all the warmth of fall colors, yellow and orange accents everywhere. I think what made this wedding so adorable was it's small town wedding vibe. This wedding was shot in North Idaho, a place called Bonner's Ferry to be exact. Needless to say, the wheat was in full bloom.

Are Wedding Planners worth it?

Here are the top 20 things I learned when planning my wedding.

1. Sometimes you can go overboard.
2. You friends and family will over-react about your wedding plans.
3. Your bound to have one friend who acts up.
4. Your wedding will make you cry and not in a good way.
5. The people you thought would be at the wedding won't and the ones you never thought would come will show up.
6. Nothing ever goes perfect.
7. A wedding planner can be your best friend.
8. The cake might turn out tasting bad.
9. The day will go by far to fast and you might not even remember saying "I DO".
10. It's hard to enjoy yourself in a heavy, oversize dress, in August.
11. You will spend hours staring at the internet.
12. Pink starts to look the same no matter how many shades of it there are.
13. Seat the people who make you laugh around you, will need them.
14. Take control of your wedding because everyone will want to chime in.
15. Don't spend to much on invites, no one really cares.
16. Even if you put a stamp on the RSVP and address it, it will not be sent back to you.
17. Your bridesmaids will not email you back unless you bug them over and over.
18. The dress is a hassle to find!
19. Endless hours will be spend trying to figure out what to give the Bridesmaids as gifts.
20. Nothing is that important.......just relax.

These are just 20 of the things I learned, when planning my wedding. I made it kinda hard on myself, because I choose a destination wedding. I planned the entire wedding from Virginia. I did most of it on my own. My wedding planner was only so much help. I basically showed her my idea's, purchased the stuff and sent it too her. If I had had more time, I would have decorated the church different than she did. I would have used better vases and so on. I learned that I couldn't be there for everything. I had to let go of the control to the wedding planner but between you and I.....I would have done a few things different. I think being a wedding planner is a rough job. She is on the front lines of a busy and stressful day.

I came all the way from Virginia, I didn't know my way around Puerto Rico to save my life. The wedding planner picked us up at our hotel to get our marriage license and sign some papers at the church. That was the last time I saw her before the rehearsal, which lasted 20 minutes tops. The next time I saw her was after the ceremony was over. I remember thinking where is she? She never even showed up to the rehearsal dinner, which was kinda a bummer because I had a gift for her. To say the least I was not impressed with her communication. I begin to wonder, what's the point of a destination wedding planner if she's not going to even be around?

The decorations where up, the wedding happened, the cake was cut and off to the honeymoon we went but what about everything in the middle? There was no welcome to PR gift, no note or welcome package from our destination wedding planner. No welcome drink in our room, no offer to take the tux's back for us. She wasn't there at the church when we got there....but in fairness I was late. My flowers where not brought to my room, in fact I didn't even have them in my hand until I started walking down the aisle. My mom had to tell the girls when to walk. My wedding planner was no where to seen. She was basically MIA, until after the service. What happened to having an assistant the day of the wedding?

This is not to say that she didn't take every email I sent her serious or help me plan when I got stuck with details. She did help with all that but that wedding was owned by me from head to toe. All of those idea's belong to me. I never even got a phone call from her after the wedding to see if I was happy and to this day she has never asked me how she did and if I was happy with her. I guess she just figured I was a happy and for the most part I was. Thus, I have not commented until now about my wedding planner and might never if it wasn't for this little blog.

It would takes very little for anyone to be a wedding planner. It's what you can bring to the table that can set you above the rest. Most important thing for any bride is to have a wedding planner who can go the length with her. Show the bride you care. Give the couple your best foot forward. Give them a welcome note telling them you appreciate there business. It's really the small things that go far. Word of mouth is so important! Do I think a wedding planner is important? YES, but I also think it's important that a wedding planner think that your important too. Especially if, you are traveling to a place you have never been. Those kinda wedding planners need to be at the top of their game and go the extra mile. After all, you need them for just about everything..........

It comes as no surprise to anyone who has ever planned a wedding for themselves or helped someone you love plan one that it's a long and sometimes painful process. I, myself just planned my wedding in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. I would be lying if I said, it was easy as pie. With that said, I would not change one single thing...... or would I?

I would like to offer my advice, tips and experiences with each and everyone trying to plan their engagement party, bridal shower, wedding or any big event that takes your blood, sweat, tears and heart to create. I have put together a small team of women who have there sleeves rolled up and are ready to help you with just about anything you might need.

Each month, we are going to create an entire wedding from head to toe.....We are leaving no stone unturned in an effort to create a wedding blog that answers all your questions, provides you with Vendors who are creative and have what it takes to make your day sparkle and shine!

Here is a sample of an amazing wedding, if I do say so myself (because it's mine!!!) that I LOVE. I will be posting and featuring my day to start. Hope you enjoy the massive amount of pictures I am going to Post!!! Along with featuring my Vendors because it just to happens I think they were out of this world!
